Our Commitment to Safe, High-Quality Content
At Selectube, our mission is to create a safe, enriching, and joyful video experience for kids. We know how overwhelming YouTube can be, and we're here to make it simple: only parent-approved, thoughtfully selected channels make it onto our platform.
This page explains how we choose content and what you can expect from the videos your children watch on Selectube.
Our Philosophy
We believe the best content:
- Encourages learning and curiosity
- Sparks creativity and offline play
- Is fun, thoughtful, and inclusive of a range of ages
We apply the "younger sibling rule":
If we'd feel comfortable letting a younger sibling watch alongside an older one, we include it.
This helps us create a space where kids of different ages can safely explore within age-appropriate boundaries.
How We Moderate Content
Parent Recommendations
Every channel we consider starts with a recommendation from a parent or educator who knows and trusts the content.
Thorough Channel Vetting
Before inclusion, our team reviews the channel for:
- Educational and creative value
- Consistent age-appropriateness
- Positive social-emotional themes
We prioritize channels that support STEAM learning, curiosity, and kindness.
We currently review entire channels, not individual videos. In limited cases, we may filter out specific keywords from a channel, but only when the channel is of sufficient quality. For example, National Geographic has a vast library of quality content, but a few specific programs may be less appropriate and we make a best effort to filter this.
Ongoing Monitoring
YouTube content evolves. We are constantly monitoring and updating our channels list to ensure we are providing the best possible content for your children. If you have any concerns, please let us know — info@selectube.app..
What We Prioritize
- No shock content
- No addictive or mindless content
- No hyper-commercialized or exploitative videos
- No violence, mature humor, or inappropriate language
- Content that respects children's intelligence and creativity
We know screen time matters—so we focus on making it meaningful.
